Trash Free St. Louis - Pilot Project Launch

  • Missouri Confluence Waterkeeper 121 West Adams Avenue St. Louis, MO, (map)

Like you, we like clean waterways. Thanks to the EPA Region 7’s Trash Free Waters Initiative and the St. Louis Aquarium Foundation, we are excited to invite you to the launch of three new trash traps in our region’s waterways, which contribute to the fourth-largest watershed in the world. And through a pilot monitoring program - the first of its kind in St. Louis – we will not only remove in-stream litter, but also work to stop it at its source. We received funding to place traps in Deer Creek Park (Maplewood), Heman Park (University City), and River des Peres Park (St. Louis City) to test three different types of these in-stream litter collectors and will be celebrating the beginning of our year long pilot at Deer Creek Park.

After the event, feel free to join Blue2Blue Conservation for a short, on-site litter cleanup and help keep our parks clean. Gloves and bags will be provided.
